Neymar has refuted claims that he and team mate Lionel Messi do not see eye and insisted the pair have a “wonderful” relationship.

Recent reports in the Spanish media have suggested the pair have a poor relationship, the Brazilian rejected these views in a recent interview.

The 22-year-old spoke to CNN about the Argentine, who will be his rival in this summer’s World Cup.

“We have not been able to play together in every game but I think the link we have been creating is very good,” Goal.com quoted Neymar as saying.

And the reason behind that good link? “Because the relationship between us is wonderful,” the Brazil international said.

“Some people said that we would not get along, but they were wrong. He is a very relaxed guy, a star that I admire.”

Although Neymar insists the pair have a wonderful relationship, it is unlikely they will appear on the same team again this season.

The Brazilian is currently out injured and it has been predicted that he won’t be fully fit until after the club season has reached its climax.

The next focus for Neymar will be the World Cup, where, as aforementioned, he and Messi will be rivals going for the biggest title in international football.
