Atlético Madrid defender Miranda would turn down the chance to be the hero again for Los Rojiblancos as long as they defeat Real Madrid in another final.

Real and Atlético will contest the 2014 Champions League final and the Brazilian defender has fond memories of the last time the two teams went head to head in a cup final.

Atlético were victorious in the 2013 Copa del Rey final thanks to Miranda’s 99th minute extra time header.

The defender’s goal ensured his side won 2-1 but he believes it will be a different match compared to previous meetings.

Miranda told ESPN Brazil: “The final will be another game entirely. The best does not always win but what team is more prepared.

“So lets prepare well and get our best for Lisbon.

“We though we would repeat this feat and we want to be champions. It doesn’t matter who scores the goal, as long as we win.”

With a Champions League final and advantage in La Liga, it could be a sensational end of the season for Miranda and his team mates.

Atlético’s focus now switches to Sunday’s away fixture against Levante where they’ll try to obtain three points that will keep them on course for the La Liga title.
