Chelsea defender John Terry has ruled out returning to playing for England at the World Cup.

The 33 year-old, who earned 78 caps before retiring in September 2012, has rediscovered his best form this season, following the return of Josè Mourinho to Stamford Bridge.

Terry’s good performances have lead to calls for him to return to the international setup, but the Barking-native insists there is no chance of a comeback.

“For me, 100 per cent, I"m going to be on my holidays in the summer, I"m going to be nowhere else," he said, as reported by FIFA.com. “I"ve made that very clear. My thoughts are very strong on that – maybe people don"t realise how strong.

“I certainly wish the England side and Roy [Hodgson] the very best. When you look at people like Gaz [Cahill] in great form, serving his country very well, we"ll be okay in all departments, I"m sure. I"ll be there watching every game and supporting the lads with a nice bit of sun."
