The Brazilian says his first season in La Liga has been a great learning experience and hopes he can improve on his performances next term.

Barcelona forward Neymar says this campaign has been positive for him but had admitted to finding it difficult to adapt to an entirely different country and league.

“This season has been a season of learning,” the 22-year-old told Sport.

“I came from another country with another style of football, and came into a completely new situation. I had to adapt personally. I have learned a lot, not only personally, but also professionally.”

“In life not everything is easy, some mornings are good and others are not. We recently lost the Copa del Rey and that was not a good feeling, but you have to learn.”

“When you feel sad, look up and keep smiling.”

“I needed an apprenticeship and I hope all this learning will serve me well for next year, that I can give much more and that we achieve a lot of success next season.”

Neymar also took the chance to praise Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale but insisted that Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi was still the best player in the world.

“Bale is a great player with huge potential and it is showing this season. I can say that I train every day with Leo and to me he is the best, he’s a special player.”
