Brazilian Willian admitted “it does not get better than this” after Chelsea once against defied the odds in the Champions League yesterday as they overturned a two-goal deficit from the first leg to progress to the semi-finals at the expense of Paris Saint-Germain.

The French club were victorious in Paris last week 3-1 but the Blues earned a thoroughly deserved 2-0 success at Stamford Bridge to make it another special European night for their fans.

At the forefront of their excellent performance was Willian, who continues to impress and show what a canny operator he is.

The 25-year-old shared his thoughts with Uefa.com after the game and was full of praise for his team mates and manager José Mourinho.

Willian said: “The whole squad is happy. It was tough but we managed to qualify.

“We planned well for the game and knew we could score two goals; Mourinho prepared us well. We were determined to defend well and stop them playing in midfield.

“They have a great team, but we were playing at home and have a strong side.”

The Brazil international admitted the celebrations after the game were brilliant, adding: “We were all hugging each other after the game, celebrating and laughing together.

“It does not get better than this. We knew it would be difficult after the first leg, but with the quality we have, we always believed we could do it.”
