The Brazilian won the man-of-the-match award for his goal and all-round display in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Stoke but his manager has told him to improve in one key area next season.

Chelsea’s £32million signing from Anzhi Makhachkala has been one of the Blues’ highlights so far this season and has proved to be one of Mourinho’s top performers.

The 25-year-old has been praised for his defensive and tactical work has helped create a balanced team which excels in both attacking and defensive roles but has only managed three goals in 15 starts since joining the club.

Mourinho was eager to praise Willian after an impressive all-round performance during Saturday’s victory at Stamford Bridgebut feels a player of his quality should score more goals.

“The goal was really good but I think a player with his quality, that gives so much to the team, not just in possession but in the defensive work and balance of the team, I want to see him score more goals. He has to do that in the second season, he has to bring his game into other levels,” said Mourinho in an interview with the club’s official website.
