Diego Ribas scored a sensational goal against Barcelona yesterday to give Los Rojiblancos the upper hand in their Champions League quarter-final clashas they drew 1-1 in the Camp Nou.

It was the fourth time already this season that Atlético Madrid and the Catalan giants were unable to be seperated and speaking after the game, Brazilian Diego was very happy with his strike.

The 29-year-old smashed straight into the top corner from way outside the box to shock the home fans, Inside Spanish Football quoted Diego.

“It was a golazo, very important. I’m very happy because goals give me confidence,” the Brazilian explained.

“They’re important in getting me in my comfort zone. It’ll be good moving forward.

“I always dedicate my goals to God. For me, the last several games weren’t easy for me. I was happy because the goal put the team up, but it’s good to play, to feel important, to score.

“The celebration is also dedicated to the entire team.”

The debate over the brilliance of Diego’s goal has already started – with some labeling it the best in this seasons Champions League.

It was just the Brazilian’s second goal since rejoining the club in January from Wolfsburg but Diego will hope to end the campaign in strong form now.
