Filipe Luís believes Barcelona are favourites ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final match at the Camp Nou.

The Atlético Madrid full back was speaking to the Spanish media at a press conference and talked about the different styles of each club.

AS quoted the Brazilian, Filipe Luís said: “We’re both playing well, with two different styles of play.

“We will defend and counter, whilst they’ll take possession and try to tire us out. We have three games left against them and it’s going to be hard.

“We must be physically at our best, and attentive. They’re the favourites, but at this level of competition desire also plays a part.”

Atlético and Barcelona have faced each other three times already this season, with each meeting ending in a stalemate.

They are also going hammer and tongs for the La Liga title but the Brazilian doubts these two European games will affect the league too much.

“Scoring at the Camp Nou isn’t easy and stopping them from scoring is even harder,” Filipe Luís exclaimed.

“We have to stop them from playing their game and try to counter. We know they’re going to look to dominate.

“A knock-out game against Barca takes a lot out on you and for that we wanted a foreign opponent but the result won’t influence anything in the league. We have changed into ‘Champions League mode’ and it won’t affect us.”
