Atlético Mineiro captain Réver has revealed that his return from injury is going well and has challenged himself to start physical activities in two weeks time.

The 29-year-old was forced to undergo surgery on his left ankle but has thus far passed all the targets set by the medical team so far.

Réver said: “Since I got injured, I have put in my head that I need to recover as quickly as possible. I have had enough discipline to get treatment; I’m going in for two periods every day.

“With faith in God, I’m doing pretty well. The help of the staff of the club is also essential, they are very competent and they give me so much strength.”

The skipper of the Copa Libertadores team admits he hasn’t set himself a return date but would like to be ready for the knock-out stages of the Libertadores.

He concluded: “It is difficult to talk about exactly when I’ll return but I want to resume physical activities in two weeks, to maybe even be able to attend the last game of the group stage of the Libertadores and if not come back in the final stages of the competition, if we confirm our qualification.”
