Defender Dória has highlighted the importance Botafogo’s mid-week Copa Libertadores victory against Independiente del Valle.
A second minute strike from Juan Carlos Ferreyra was enough to secure a 1-0 win and ensure Botafogo remain top of Group 2.
After the game, Dória was eager to highlight how difficult the Copa Libertadores is and insists the result was more important than the performance.
“The Libertadores is very difficult, you can see that through the games of other Brazilian clubs,” he said, as reported by GOAL.com. “When you think that the game is easy, everything happens in reverse.
“The most important thing is the victory. This last game was tough enough, they had scoring opportunities, but we managed to overcome. The important thing was not the score, but winning.”
