With a presence in seven of the eight remaining teams in the competition, chances are high that a Brazilian will be celebrating Champions League victory this year.

The only team not boasting a Brazilian in their ranks is the less-fancied German outfit Borussia Dortmund.

Information released by UEFA reveals that five Brazilians have participated for Atlético Madrid since the start of the campaign. Four have appeared for Chelsea and PSG, three for Barcelona, two for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and just one for Manchester United.

Involvement in the final of the competition, however, could upset national coach Luiz Felipe Scolari’s World Cup preparations with the final taking place on 24 May, only two days before the team are due to meet in Teresópolis.

Daniel Alves, Neymar, Dante, David Luiz, Oscar, Ramires, William, Thiago Silva, Maxwell and Marcelo are among those still competing in the Champions League and likely to go to the World Cup.
