Thiago Silva roared Brazil are ready for the World Cup after Seleção scored five times to defeat South Africa 5-0 at Soccer City in Johannesburg.

Neymar helped himself to a hat-trick and Premier League stars Oscar and Fernandinho scored the others to earn another win for Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side.

Brazil’s captain believes they will be perfectly prepared for the summer event. Silva spoke with lancenet.com and said: “I have no doubt that we will be prepared. We had a wonderful Confederations Cup.

“We closed our preparation with a golden win and now its key we rest, to play the championships we have to play and prepare well for the World Cup.”

The Paris Saint-Germain defender was his usual best against South Africa and restricted the host to few chances in Wednesday’s friendly match.

Silva will now be aiming to retain the Ligue 1 title with PSG and then go to Brazil to win his nation the World Cup.
