Barcelona striker Alexis Sanchez has declared his ambition to emulate a certain Brazilian player whilst at the club and although it may be considered a tall order, if the Chilean gets close to the achievements of Ronaldo, he will be considered a club great.
An interview with Sanchez, documented on Barcelona’s official website, has him stating the following: “They told me the numbers that were available at Barca when I came here.”
“As I am a great admirer of the Brazilian Ronaldo, I wanted to wear the same number. He wore number nine and was very successful, so I wanted to emulate him.”
25 year-old Sanchez has settled into his role a bit more this season, notching 15 goals in 21 games for the Catalan side.
