The ex-Fluminense midfielder has highlighted the importance of patience to get where he is.

Signed at the start of the season to replace the outgoing João Moutinho, Brazilian Carlos Eduardo is finally rising to prominence with the Portuguese outfit.

Such is the rising popularity of the 24-year-old, he recently appeared on the cover of the club’s official magazine: Dragões.

“I will always see this as a great opportunity. It’s impossible to be demotivated to play for a club like Porto. Since I arrived I’ve learned lots with other players and the coach. I got into the team at just the right time. If I had got in before I may not have grabbed the opportunity in the way that I have.”

In the interview he also talked about comparisons with Deco and Sócrates.

“I can’t be compared to them. Deco is a legend of football and of Porto and is beyond comparison. Sócrates is from my city and I always watched videos of him.”
