Guangzhou Evergrande manager Marcello Lippi believes Brazil are second favourites to Germany for this summer’s World Cup.

The veteran tactician, who won the tournament with Italy in 2006, is also backing his home country to be the surprise of the competition.

“For the World Cup in Brazil I see Germany as the favourites, then the hosts, followed by Spain, Italy, France and Holland,” he told Marca. “Cesare Prandelli is doing a great job and Italy can be the surprise of the tournament.”

Lippi joined Guangzhou Evergrande in May 2012. He has led them to two Chinese Super League’s, a Chinese FA Cup and the 2013 AFC Champions League.
