Adriano has revealed his happiness at making his comeback for Atlético Paranaense to the media recently.

The 31-year-old was in the news again this week but for good reason as he made his debut for Atlético PR on Thursday night in the Copa Libertadores.

He failed to make a significant impression but was emotional about his return, Goal.com quoted the former Inter Milan forward.

“I’ve been battling every day to reach my target,” said Adriano.

“I’ve gone through so many things in my life and taking part in an important competition such as the Libertadores makes me happy and emotional.”

The former Seleção striker has admitted he dreams of playing in the World Cup but for the immediate future he has to focus on earning a starting spot in Atlético PR’s team.

Associated Press also published quotes from Adriano, he talked about how he believes his time in Curitiba will go well.

“After two years, it’s very gratifying to wear a club’s jersey and to step on a field again,” added the Brazilian.

“It’s great to be able to come back after everything that I’ve been through.

“I have every reason to believe it will all end well. I’m on the right track.”
