The agent of Brazilian keeper Neto has praised his client for proving his critics at the start of the season wrong.
Fiorentina’s number one goalie was pinpointed as the weak link in Viola’s line up at the start of the season but has put in a string of top displays and been an ever present.
Football Italia quoted his agent, Stefano Castagna, after he spoke to ViolaNews, he said: “I’m delighted for Neto.
“I think turning around people’s perceptions is one of the greatest things for a player.
“The lad deserved everything he’s getting at the moment. He’s always been working hard, even during the tough times.
“He’s not thinking about the end of the season or the World Cup, just the next match with Inter.”
Neto kept a clean sheet on Tuesday night which helped Fiorentina reach the final of the Coppa Italia and they’ll go into Saturday’s Serie A game full of confidence.
Viola are currently 4th, just one spot ahead of their weekend opponents Internazionale but with an eight-point cushion.
The 24-year-old will hope to keep another clean sheet and help his sides aims of qualifying for the Champions League.
