Palmeiras playmaker Jorge Valdivia"s admitted he is hoping to earn a move back to Europe.

The 30 year-old, who has been capped 55 times by Chile, previously had unsuccessful spells at Rayo Vallecano and Servette, but would still be open to giving it another go.

“I would love to return to Europe, but in a better situation than before," he told  La Segunda.

“I played at a team [Rayo Vallecano] that were in the second division. When I arrived there was one manager, and then the next one didn"t want me or any foreigners.

“Then I went to Switzerland to play for Servette and the club broke, which is not normal in Switzerland. So my experiences in Europe were rare.

“If I don"t return to Europe, it"s because I"m at a club that competes for the Libertadores every year, that plays in the Club World Cup, a league where I have been named the best number 10 in Brazil. Those are professional achievements which need to be highlighted."
