Former Tottenham Hotspur player Rodrigo Defendi has revealed his delight at joining Vitória.
The 27-year-old has signed for the Salvador based team following an unsuccessful spell with Botafogo last season.
Defendi is best known for his time with Tottenham when he was a youngster, although he failed to make a single first team appearance for the club.
He was only a teenager when he moved to England and has enjoyed a degree of success elsewhere in his career including at Portuguese side Vitória de Guimarães.
The defender is now looking forward to working alongside Ney Franco again, he told Lance: “The trust Ney’s putting on me is essential to my tranquility.
“Having worked with him in the past, I do only work with a clear head to be able to think and grow here.”
Defendi worked with Franco during his early days with Cruzeiro, before moving to Tottenham as a 16-year-old.
He is expected to make his debut for the club this weekend and will hope under the influence of Franco he is able to perform consistently for his new team.
