Liverpool have made an enquiry about Spartak Moscow midfielder Rômulo, according to reports.

The Daily Express claims the Reds have even gone as far as to bid £7 million for the 23 year-old, with Spartak holding out for around £10 million.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is eager to secure a new midfielder before the transfer window closes, having lost Lucas Leiva to injury.

The tactician is believed to have looked at Porto’s Fernando and Milan holder Nigel De Jong, but it seems Rômulo is his preferred choice.

The Daily Express believes Spartak will sell at the right price, but would prefer to keep the Brazilian until the end of the season, given that they are just one point off the top in the Russian Premier League.
