Last week Cruzeiro have received an offer for Everton Ribeiro and today it was revealed by Brazilian newspaper Lance that the offer came from Ukraine side Shakhtar Donetsk.

Businessman Kia Joorabchian was involved in the deal, which would have been €10 million and given Cruzeiro a percentage of Marcelo Moreno economic rights.

Moreno spent last season on loan at Cruzeiro from Grêmio but Shakhtar still own 30% of his contract and the deal involving Ribeiro would see them own a significant amount of Moreno so they could keep him for 2014.

However this proposal was dismissed by Cruzeiro, who remain adamant of keeping Ribeiro at the club.

Reports in Brazil suggest that Joorbchian is using the Ukraine club to arouse awareness in England and force one of the Premier League clubs to bid for the 24-year-old.

Joorbchian has been involved in several deals involving Brazilians moving to the Premier League. David Luiz, Paulinho and Oscar among some of the deals.

However at the moment it seems the talented attacker could be staying at Cruzeiro, who own 60% of his economic rights, and that would be a huge boost for the club ahead of their Copa Libertadores campaign.
