‘Jupp Heynckes deserves FIFA Male coach of the year’ says Felipão

Jupp Heynckes was awarded FIFA Male coach of the year for 2013 today and Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari believes the German manager thoroughly deserved the award.

Heynckes enjoyed a sensational 2013 with Bayern Munich winning the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal to end his time with the German side in triumphant fashion.

Felipão praised the 68-year-old’s work over the past year and in previous seasons. He admitted it was a shame that he was out of work currently.

Lance quoted the Brazil manager, who spoke to various media after the award ceremony.

“(Heynckes award is) very derserving. At work and for everything that he won this past year. And also for the work he did in the previous year.

“It was so important and it is important that FIFA recognizes Jupp as the best coach of the year. It is a shame he is not working at the moment.”

Midway through the 2012/13 season Bayern Munich announced that Pep Guardiola would be becoming their manager for the 2013/14 campaign.

Despite Heynckes winning the treble for the German’s he now finds himself out of work and as Scolari stated it is a shame the famous German manager isn’t coaching somewhere in the world.
