José Mourinho has praised referee Andre Marriner for giving a yellow card to Brazilian international Ramires in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Derby in the FA Cup on Sunday.

One of diving’s biggest critics, the Portuguese coach agrees with the attitude adopted by referees but insists that there are no ‘divers’ in his team.

“I maintain that there are no ‘divers’ at Chelsea. These are isolated cases. Referees are keeping an eye on it and are being helped by technology. I am happy with the card because in this case the referee was correct. I haven’t spoken to Ramires yet, but the referee was there and made a good decision, perfect. Let’s do this at every game, in every stadium, with every player. Let’s do this,” said the 50-year-old.

Chelsea’s next opponent is Hull City at the KC Stadium on Saturday.
