Brazil’s national team goalkeeper Júlio César is close to joining Arsenal, according to reports in Italian press.

The former Flamengo goalkeeper plays for Queens Park Rangers, but he has already admitted he will probably leave the club following QPR’s relegation to the English Championship.

Júlio César had previously been linked to AC Milan, but the Italian club dismissed the rumors, and Roma are also interested in signing him.

The goalkeeper is willing to remain in London, he believes that he needs to move to a big club to be on the spotlight and thus avoid being dropped from Brazil’s national team.

He is now close to Arsenal, according to Italian news site TuttoMercatoWeb. The English club are offering him a 2-year contract, an annual salary of 4 million Euros.

The Italian site claims that Júlio César will say yes to Arsenal’s offer soon. He is currently in Brazil as the national team are getting ready for the Confederations Cup.
