Former Barcelona defender Edmilson says Neymar can be Ronaldinho"s spiritual successor at the Catalan club.

The former Seleção star believes Neymar has what it takes to succeed in Europe and believes Barcelona is the best destination for the player.

“Neymar has a character like Ronnie, he plays football very cheerful, very fun, veryspontaneous and with this commitment from Leo [Messi] to beat records every season, they can do great things together," he told La Xarxa

“He is focused and uncomplicated, so the fans will love him."

Edmilson also is of the opinion that the 21-year-old has achieved everything possible in his homeland and thinks that a move to Europe should be imminent.

“In Brazil he has already done it all, he does not have any challenges left in Brazil. He should go to Barca and he will perform greatly."

The 36-year-old also reserved a word of praise for Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho following Tuesday night’s Champions League semi-final exit at the hands of Borussia Dortmund.

“Mourinho speaks the truth in the press conferences, things that many people want to cover," Edmilson added. “He is very direct, open and honest about his team."
