Cruzeiro’s Director of Football Alexandre Mattos has announced that the club will not be attempting to sign Vasco’s defender Dedé and Grêmio’s striker Marcelo Moreno.

The centreback is wanted by several clubs, Vasco’s manager Paulo Autuori has already admitted that Dedé will leave the club.

Alexandre Mattos commented the following about Dedé: “I’ll make it clear again, Cruzeiro talked 40 days ago about the values offered to sign Dedé, but Vasco turned it down. We offered 3 million Euros and some players on loan deals. but Vasco insisted that they want 15 million Euros, so this matter has now been closed, we’ll value our own defenders”.

Marcelo Moreno is in Dedé’s opposite situation as he is out of favor at Grêmio. whose board offered him to Cruzeiro.

The Cruzeiro director affirmed that there are too many players already competing for Marcelo Moreno’s spot, he said: “The doors are open for Marcelo Moreno at Cruzeiro, he was an idol here and there is some empathy with the fans, but we have three players that play in his position, Borges, Vinícius Araújo and Anselmo Ramón”.

Alexandre Mattos completed: “Cruzeiro didn’t seek him, it was Grêmio that offered him to us. Grêmio even asked Paulão to be involved in a possible swap deal, but we didn’t accept it. The subject was over then. Cruzeiro are not negotiating with Marcelo Moreno”.
