Sambafoot takes a look at last night’s Campeonato Mineiro action…

Villa Nova continued their impressive recent form with another win, a 2-0 victory over Araxá courtesy of goals from Tchô and Marcelo elevating the away side to second.

Tombense also climbed up the table to third after a goalless draw with Caldense, who drop down to seventh place after the game.

The final game saw Tupi crumble to their first defeat of the campaign as Nacional MG took the spoils in a 2-1 win to move up to sixth, while the hosts drop to fifth after goals from Caleb and Kanu.

League leaders Cruzeiro are in action tonight as they take on Boa Esporte while title rivals Atlético Mineiro face América Mineiro.
