São Paulo’s Osvaldo has been awarded a call up to the Seleção as a replacement for the injured Lucas Moura.

The PSG midfielder has pulled out of the squad to face Italy and Russia in friendlies later this month after suffering a foot injury in a recent match.

But Luiz Felipe Scolari has moved swiftly and recruited Osvaldo, which is reward for an impressive start to 2013 as the forward has become an essential part of São Paulo’s first team.

Brazil will face Italy on March 21 in Geneva, Switzerland before travelling to England to take on Russia at Stamford Bridge on March 25.

Squad to face Russia and Italy:

Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar, Diego Cavalieri.

Defenders: Dani Alves, Filipe Luis, Dante, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Dedé, Marcelo.

Midfielders: Ralf, Paulinho, Ramires, Hernanes, Kaka, Oscar, Fernando, Jean, Luiz Gustavo.

Strikers: Neymar, Hulk, Fred, Diego Costa, Osvaldo.
