Sambafoot takes a look at last night’s Campeonato Mineiro action…

Cruzeiro secured their second victory of the campaign over América TO thanks to goals from Dagoberto and Anselmo.

Anselmo opened the scoring just before half time with a delightful backheeled finish from a low cross.

Minutes after the break, Cruzeiro were handed a penalty after a handball in the penalty area which Dagoberto stepped up and converted for his second goal of the campaign.

Cruzeiro could have and perhaps should have scored more as they strolled to a 2-0 victory with little resistance from the away side.

Atlético Mineiro also beat Tombense 2-1 on Wednesday evening, with goals from Jô and Rosinei earning them their first win of the season.

Tombense opened the scoring with Èder Luiz but Atlétic staged a comeback with goals either side of half time to climb up to fourth place.
