Fluminense have finally announced signing of Lyon left-back Fabián Monzón on a six month loan after weeks of negotiations.

Monzón, 25, only signed for the French giants in July last year from Nice but failed to make an impact at the Stade de Gerland and decided to head back to South America to get first team football.

"With the arrival of reinforcements, they serve the requests from Abel [Braga, Fluminense coach] and I think we achieved our goal which is to have at least two good players in every position in the squad. Fluminense is prepared for the 2013 season," director Rodrigo Caetano told the official Fluminense website.

The Argentine, who has played seven times for his country, started his career at Boca Juniors and spent a season on loan at Real Betis in Spain before moving to Nice in France in 2011, where he caught the eye of Lyon scouts after scoring 10 goals from left-back.
