PSG centre back Thiago Silva has been ruled out for up to three weeks after picking up an injury during the club’s goalless draw against Ajaccio.

The player left the field at the hour mark and the club do not anticipate a return until next month where a comeback against Bastia on February 8 has been earmarked.

“The biggest news of the day is a medical update regarding Thiago Silva, who left the field due to injury in the 57th minute of the match against Ajaccio,” a statement on the club’s official website confirmed.

“The MRI that was performed today confirmed a femoral bicep injury on the left arm. He will be unavailable for an estimated three weeks at the minimum.”

Thiago Silva is the current holder of the 2012 Samba Gold Trophy, successfully defending his title from the previous year.
