Tottenham boss Andre Villas Boas has played down fears of a lengthy layoff after Sandro was forced off the pitch during Spurs’ 0-0 draw against QPR.
The Brazilian limped off the pitch in the first half with a knee injury amid concerns over the state of his knee.
But Villas Boas has calmed down fears and says the player could be back in time for next weekend’s clash against Manchester United.
“He should be okay for the Manchester United game next week. It’s just a knock on the knee,” the Spurs boss revealed.
“He felt a big knock on the knee and thought there was ligament damage but on a further look it looks okay.”
Scott Parker, who came on to replace Sandro at Loftus Road, will be on standby again should the player suffer any setbacks that force him to miss out against the Red Devils.
