Nancy captain André Luiz has announced that he will play one last game for the club before terminating his contract and returning to Brazil.
The 32-year-old defender, who has been at the club since 2005, was due to make his final appearance against Drouais today, which Nancy won 5-1.
However, Luiz has announced on the club’s official website that coach Jean Fernandez has convinced him to play his final game against Lille next Saturday.
He said: “This is a beautiful chance and I could not refuse.
“I’ll defer termination of my contract by a week and join my new club in Brazil later than expected.”
The former Atlético Mineiro man won the French League Cup in 2006 and has made more than 250 Ligue 1 appearances for Nancy, scoring 20 goals.
