Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in signing AC Milan’s wantaway striker Alexandre Pato according to reports in England.

TalkSPORT reports that the two Premier League clubs are awaiting the outcome of talks between Corinthians and AC Milan, and will move for the player should the deal collapse.

Corinthians have denied reports today that a deal was done and says that there is much to do yet to sign the player with talks set to resume next week.

Brendan Rodgers is known to be in the market for new forwards, with Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge almost a certainty to move to Anfield as soon as the window opens.

After the departure of Sturridge, Chelsea are short of striking options and are looking for a new forward with Fernando Torres their only senior striker left.
