Hulk defends decision to join Zenit
Seleção star Hulk has defended his decision to join Zenit St Petersburg in the summer despite his poor recent form.
Reports of a spat with manager Luciano Spalletti have been circulating after the Brazilian snubbed the Italian during Zenit's 1-0 win against AC Milan earlier this year.
But Hulk insists that all is well at the club: "I decided to go to Zenit because I had won almost every competition at Porto and I like new challenges in my career. I hope I can carry on winning like that in the near future.”
"I am getting used to my new home. Now I need to focus on football. The biggest challenge in Russia was the cold weather at first but after playing games at -12, I think I am settling down quickly.”
"We will fight for the victory in the Russian league and try to win the Europa League."
Hulk is now hoping to impress new Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari ahead of the friendly clash against England on February 5.
