Corinthians midfielder Danilo believes that they deserve to win the World Club Cup final against Chelsea and hopes to add a second medal to his collection.
Danilo played in the São Paulo side that beat Liverpool 1-0 in the 2006 World Club Cup final, the last time a South American representative won the competition.
The player told reporters: “It’s a similar situation, maybe. But the past is the past. The opponent is a different team, the timing is different.
“So I don’t know if the past experience would make a difference. Our opponent is at a very high level compared to us.
“We are not able to make any mistakes. We have a big responsibility, too. We can win and deserve to win.”
Tite confirmed in the press conference that Danilo would be moving from his normal left midfield role to take up a place in the centre of midfield for the final with Jorge Henrique replacing Douglas.
