AC Milan’s Alexandre Pato has been ruled out of their Champions League clash against Zenit St Petersburg tonight according to manager Massimiliano Allegri.

This is another setback for the young Brazilian as he had only just returned from a long term injury and is yet another one to add to his long history of injury problems.

Allegri told reporters ahead of the match: “Pato is still in pain and with his history, it’s better to be cautious and play him only when he is fitter and injury free.”

The Rossoneri go into tonight’s match having already qualified for the next round along with Málaga.

Pato could return in the Serie A as Milan visit Torino on Saturday as they try to revive their season.
