Corinthians were held to a 1-1 draw by a Santos side without talismanic forward Neymar. The talented Felipe Anderson stepped up in Neymar’s absence by scoring the opening goal in the 36th minute after an André assist.

The Corinthians equaliser came as Jorge Henrique laid on for defender Wallace to score the tying goal as they struggled without the services of Paulinho, also away for international duty.

In the other match, Vasco also drew 1-1 with Flamengo, the hosts taking the lead through Nilton in a bad tempered contest which saw eight yellow cards handed out.

Flamengo secured a point with a late goal from Marcos González after some good work from Adryan.

The remainder of the penultimate round of the Brasileirão will take place tonight as Portuguesa face Internacional and Sport Recife take on title winners Fluminense as they look to avoid relegation.

Second place is also up for grabs as Grêmio and Atlético Mineiro visit Botafogo and Figueirense respectively.
