The case of Ronaldinho’s R$50 million (£17 million) plus lawsuit against former side Flamengo will be heard once more on 25 February 2013, after the two parties failed to reach agreement in the two weeks since the claim was initially presented.

Ronaldinho claims that he is owed a total of R$40 million (£12 million) in unpaid wages and image rights from his final five months of a tumultuous spell at the club, as well as claiming R$15 million in damages.

Flamengo, though, refuse to accept the figure and deny that they have yet to pay contributions to the midfielder’s pension scheme, as well as challenging the other claims.

With the two sides far apart in their estimations, as Flamengo are believed to offer around R$10 million (£3.5 million), the case looks set to drag on until February’s hearing.

In the meantime, an out-of-court settlement can be pursued which would end legal action on the matter.
