Under-fire Cruzeiro coach Celso Roth has confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the season but hit back at the club"s fans over criticism of his management over his spell in Belo Horizonte.

The clubs"s president, Gilvan de Pinho Tavares, has managed to convince Roth to see out the season, but is actively looking for a new coach for 2013.

In the last two days, supporters have staged protests against the board and asked for the immediate sacking of Celso Roth. However, despite admitting that the team have underperformed this season, Roth was keen to hit back at his critics.

“I"m labeled a coach who comes to save clubs. I took Atlético-MG, who were in trouble, to now they are in a comfortable situation and I am to blame for everything. I brought five, six signings that did not work out as we wanted, but the others were all here. This thing there in the street yelling ‘out Roth", I"m out, no need to worry.

“I think absolutely normal [to be unhappy], given the negative results we are having. I will not be here next year, Cruzeiro has already ruled that they will not negotiate, fans also have the right."
