Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Willian has spoken of his side’s desire to repeat their victory over Chelsea when the two sides meet at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Willian, 24, was crucial to the side’s success in Ukraine, when they beat the reigning champions 2-1 at the Donbass Arena and believes they can repeat the trick in London.

“I’m looking forward to the match – this is a very important game for Shakhtar,” he told the club’s official website on Tuesday.

“The whole team have a lot of respect for Chelsea, but we will do everything to win tomorrow.

“It is impossible to say that the result of tomorrow’s match will be the same as in the game in Donetsk. However, we will do our best to achieve a positive result.”

The Brazilian was the target of offers from Chelsea in both January and the the summer transfer windows, although the interest now appears to have died down.

The former Corinthians youngster, though, is trying not to get distracted by the attention: “It’s nice that such clubs showed interest in me. But at the moment my career is only associated with Shakhtar. It is here that I will try to show my best.”
