Shakhtar continued their march to the Ukranian Premier League title on Saturday with their 13th straight win to see them move 15 points clear of second placed Dnipro, who play on Sunday.

The 1-0 away victory at Tavriya came courtesy of Alex Teixeira, whose goal early in the second-half sealed a difficult away win for the Miners.

The goal in Simferopol was courtesy of fine work from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, whose cutback from the by-line found Alex, who fired home into the top-corner.

The trip to Tavriya had previously proved difficult for the reigning champions, who only won on their last visit courtesy of a last minute goal from Luiz Adriano.

While Alex had warned of the difficulties pre-match, it was his goal that ultimately sealed victory in a game also featuring Fernandinho, Ilsinho, Douglas Costa and Luiz Adriano.

Alex, himself, and Willian were introduced at half-time, with the former Vasco man notching his eighth goal of an impressive opening half of the season for the former UEFA Cup winners.
