Brazil manager Mano Menezes reserved special praise for Chelsea star Oscar, after the youngster’s first-half brace sent the Seleção on their way to a 6-0 victory over Iraq.

Oscar, 21, linked well with both Neymar and Kaká in attack for the five-time World Champions, giving the side’s weak opponents little chance.

“He is young, yes, but he is always developing. Oscar is smart and his style suits how we played today. He is a very important player,” Mano told a press conference after the game.

“Of the players to have come through, he has shown the most consistent improvement. We need to have players with this ability to support the attack as he does. However, I was pleased with everybody.”

It wasn’t only Oscar coming in for praise from the head coach, with recalled Real Madrid midfielder Kaká also impressing on his return, including scoring a fine solo goal.

“The most important thing is that the Seleção is back playing well and Kaká was important to that,” the former Corinthians coach added.

“It’s the first time he has played with these players and his movement was good. What does he need to improve? He needs to do this against all opponents.”
