Roma confirm Marquinhos loan deal

Roma have confirmed the signing of Corinthians defender Marquinhos on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

The 18-year-old will join former Timão team-mates Leandro Castan and Dodô at the Stadio Olimpico, with the defensive duo already having signed for the Giallorossi earlier this summer.

Should Marquinhos play over 45 minutes in at least eight official matches this season then Roma will have the right to sign him for €3 million.

Marquinhos was one of the stars of Corinthians' triumphant Copa São Paulo side in January and has also previously captained Brazil at Under-17 level.
