Cruzeiro 1-0 Flamengo

Cruzeiro have climbed up to fifth in the Campeonato Brasileiro after defeating Flamengo 1-0 in Minas Gerais.

The only goal of the game came from Borges, who headed in Ceará’s cross right on the stroke of half-time.

 

Palmeiras 3-0 Náutico

Copa do Brasil champions Palmeiras cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win against Náutico at the Arena Barueri.

Obinha opened the scoring for the hosts in the 18th minute before Madinho’s stabbed the ball into the back of the net eleven minutes later.

Five minutes into the second half, the game was already out of reach for Náutico as Márico Araújo found the target much to the satisfaction of the Palmeiras faithful.

 

Internacional 4-1 Atlético Goianiense

Internacional eased to a convincing 4-1 victory over Atlético Goianiense at the Beira-Rio.

Elton put the hosts ahead in the 20th minute before Renie leveled the score seven minutes later.

Inter got themselves in front straight after the half-time break thanks to Dagoberto’s tap-in, and Jajá’s goal twelve minutes later made it 3-1.

With fifteen minutes remaining on the clock, Fred secured the win for the Colorado, who now lie in seventh place in the Brasileirão.

 

Figueirense 0-2 São Paulo

São Paulo climbed up to sixth in the table following their 2-0 win at Figueirense.

Ademilson opened the scoring for the Tricolor Paulista after barely sixty seconds of play before Willian José found the target three minutes into stoppage time.

 

Botafogo 0-1 Grêmio

Clarence Seedorf’s first game for Botafogo ended in defeat at the hands of Grêmio in Rio de Janeiro.

Bolivian striker Marcelo Moreno scored the only goal of the game three minutes after the half-time break.

 

Ponte Preta 1-2 Fluminense

Fluminense still remain unbeaten in the Braisleirão after scraping a 2-1 victory against Ponte Preta in Campinas.

The visitors got themselves into the lead on the stroke of half-time when Thiago Neves’ free-kick deflected off Rene Junior’s head.

With seven minutes remaining on the clock, Ponte thought they did enough to claim a point when Ferron found the target, but Fred’s converted penalty in stoppage time ensured Fluminense went home with all three points.

 

Bahia 2-2 Coritiba

Coritiba came from two goals down to grab a point against Bahia at the Pituaçu.

Souza fired the home side into the lead in the 9th minute before Mancini found the back of the net straight after the half-time.

Everton Costa pulled one back for Coritiba in the 64th minute, and then four minutes later, Emerson netted the equaliser.
