Three gunmen kidnapped the mother of Sporting Lisbon star Rogerio, the fourth abduction of a player’s mother in recent months.
Police did not immediately confirm the kidnapping of Ines Fidelis Regis, 57, but the case was widely reported in the Brazilian press.
Rogerio plays for Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon.
Campinas police are still searching for striker Luis Fabiano’s mother, who was kidnapped in the city this month. The kidnappers reportedly have not contacted the family.
