Adriano to take legal action against Corinthians

Former-Inter Milan and Parma star Adriano has revealed he will take legal action against Corinthians after claiming he was 'falsely imprisoned' by the club.

Adriano, 30, was kept in the team hotel by the Corinthians management in order to curb his excesses and help the star lose weight.

"I will take [legal] action [against Corinthians]," Adriano told TV Globo, Brazil's biggest television network.

"I was in prison for one week. At no time did I agree to stay there. It was a punishment. I felt so humiliated."

The Brazil international did though take responsibility for his lack of fitness and work-ethic in his time at the club, pointing out a failure to cope with life in São Paulo.

"I really did not take care of myself, I am aware of that. I was stubborn, and I missed a lot [of training sessions].

"I could not identify with the city. It's a nice place, with many food options. But I'm from Rio and I'm used to the beach.

"It all depends on me. Adriano will be Adriano forever: that will never change. I hope to sign for Flamengo and then after that the Selecao is my dream."
