Adriano, 30, was kept in the team hotel by the Corinthians management in order to curb his excesses and help the star lose weight.
“I will take [legal] action [against Corinthians]," Adriano told TV Globo, Brazil"s biggest television network.
“I was in prison for one week. At no time did I agree to stay there. It was a punishment. I felt so humiliated."
The Brazil international did though take responsibility for his lack of fitness and work-ethic in his time at the club, pointing out a failure to cope with life in São Paulo.
“I really did not take care of myself, I am aware of that. I was stubborn, and I missed a lot [of training sessions].
“I could not identify with the city. It"s a nice place, with many food options. But I"m from Rio and I"m used to the beach.
“It all depends on me. Adriano will be Adriano forever: that will never change. I hope to sign for Flamengo and then after that the Selecao is my dream."
