Last night Corinthians announced the resignation of coach Tite. The reason given was based on recent results in the Paulista Championship, especially defeats in the classics against Santo(3-0) and São Paulo (1-0).

Adenor Léonardo Bachi Tite was made Coach in May of last year, when he took over from Oswaldo de Oliveira. He took Corinthians from 17th position in the Brazilian Championship to a respectable fifth place finish.

However, with the arrival of MSI (Media Sports Investment)everything changed, intense pressure from the board on his position meant Tite had to win. With the arrival of expensive reinforcements and an investment of more than R$ 140 million, the coach losing is not a option. Corinthians currently sit only fifth in the Paulista Championship.

The name of Argentine coach Daniel Passarella is expected to announced in soon as replacement.
