Breno, 22, is charged with deliberately burning down his rented house in September, whilst drunk and reportedly suffering from mental health issues.
The possible penalty if found guilty ranges from one to fifteen years imprisonment and threatens to finish the young defender’s football career.
The star is accused of causing €1 million of damage to the property. Breno escaped with minor smoke inhalation, whilst his girlfriend and child were not present on the night of the incident.
