Corinthians have reportedly started negotiations to take Werder Bremen’s left leteral Gustavo Nery back to Brazil. “Yes, it’s true, club officials have already contacted me,” Nery declared to the German press.
In last game Cotinthians won 3-0 with Sampaio Correa but now Timao is only seven in Paulista Championship. The generous financial support of investor group MSI means that Corinthians have a transfer budget unmatched by any other South American team and after landing Argentine star Carlos Tevez, the club are keen to bring in more high-profile signings.
Gustavo Nery joined Werder last summer from Sao Paulo and is contracted at the Weserstadion until 2008. But he has missed almost the entire season through injury and palyed only three times. He difficulty breaks into Thomas Schaaf’s starting formation and seems ready to listen to Corinthians’ offer.
